Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports is a system that promotes positive school environments.  Instead of punishing students for negative behavior, this program rewards students for their positive behavior.  This evidence-based framework decreases discipline problems and helps students develop school appropriate behavior. Studies show that parent involvement impacts student behavior and success.  At Pleasant Valley Innovative, it is our goal to be proactive in parent contact.  Not only does parent involvement increase positive behavior and attitude, but it also helps the student have increased confidence and self-esteem. It is important that parents are aware of their student's progress. As a reward for positive behavior, students may earn up to 15 minutes of free time, per core subject, to be used at the end of each week.  These minutes are earned during instructional times when students exhibit examples of positive behavior.
